Dear Harrisonburg, Richmond, and Winchester educators,

First of all, Thank you! to the many of you who have generously made gifts to SLI already this year.

Because you know the grit and determination of SLI scholars – and the obstacles they face – your support for SLI has special significance.

Here’s a new opportunity to uplift our scholars and bolster SLI scholarships: You are invited to pledge support for an educators matching fund that will encourage community members – especially SLI alumni and first-time SLI donors – to give to SLI during the Great Community Give on June 24, 2020.

The matching fund, provided by educators like you (current and former/retired university and school faculty, administrators, staff, and division leaders) will be used to double all donations to SLI during the Great Community Give, and to triple donations from SLI alumni and first-time SLI donors.

The initial (and expandable!) goal for the matching fund is $5,000. Your pledge of $10 or more will help to make this effort a success.

Please also consider sharing this opportunity with your colleagues and friends, and submitting a “Why I support SLI scholars” sentence for SLI to share publicly (see below).

1. Please make your pledge by 8 a.m. on June 10. Instructions about fulfilling your pledge will be sent in the coming weeks.
2. Your name will be included in fund details, unless you choose to pledge anonymously.
3. If Great Community Give donations do not use all of the available pledged matching funds, you may choose to give either the full amount or the prorated portion.
